Default LS2 Cam swap help...How do I line it up,I don't see the dot to dot?

Well, thats says it all. I do not have a dot to dot on my ls2 402ci timing chain. A plastic black thing is covering the bottom gear of the crank. the only wat to remove it is to take off the oil pump too. There is a mark on my timing chain it looks like a little hump and it's flat on the bottom. how do i dop this.

It is possible to see the dot on the crank gear but it is difficult. You can see it by viewing the engine from the side.

You could just place your own marks on the timing chain sprocket or use a straight edge and draw a line through the center of the sprocket from side to side continuing onto the block. You need the mark on the block so when you put the sprocket back on you can align the line on the sprocket with the block. I would also mark the crankshaft draw a line from the key to the oil pump, although the crank should not move.
