Yep, Larry's car is pretty impressive on the street. His 408 naturally aspirated and with a slipping trans outran my Camaro w/ a STS 3 of 4 times from a roll (and from a roll is where the STS is usually king.......I embarassed a BMW M5 like it was a 4-cylinder on the interstate before ) Saw the engine before it went in the car too. Looked very nice

I will say this...LME did come to an agreement with me though and Erik at HKE definately saved the day!
Please DO NOT PM me about it, I am not here to instigate anything or get a thread locked as they are a paid sponsor.
Please just choose your engine builders wisely folks!

after reading how crappy the customer service was with LME i would not advise buying from them. I had the same thing happen with ls1speed now speedinc. I bought a "408" from them and it turned out to be an slp zz402 motor. Needless to say it just went downhill from there. Do your research and try to talk to the owner of the companies and get something going with them before you make a big commitment like that.

its no special art to build a motor for 800 hp or less... have a reputable shop that is close by that is experienced in building motors do it... save your self a headache... im not saying lme is bad im just saying in general its easier... i have had run ins with shops before.... i'd rather be able to drive to the shop and talk with them.....

As soon as I saw the pics of the piston the first thing I though of was fuel wash, and after hearing the break in procedure I don't think the rings were ever set. The rod bolts, that's a different story.

Try this one. Ordered an lsx 440 from them in August. Finally got it just before Christmas. Installed and fired it for the first time yesterday. After two heat cycles at idle, I changed the oil. I have a System 1 filter that allows me to check for debris. Lets just say its been a bad day. Stay tuned...
