Default ls2 402

I know I will get allot of opinions but I would like to hear all of them. Who builds the best 402 ls2 based short block asem. Please tell me Y you think they are the best. I am not looking for cheap I want quality. I can do the build myself but for the cost of the short blocks that I have seen verses getting a block and then doing the machine work and the build it is not worth the savings. I do not build engines for a living anymore but I use to work for an engine shop awile back.

Thanks

I have looked at Weber, Scoggin-Dickey, Texas speed, and now Speed inc. I know of a 10.2 nitrous feed Trailblazer ss that is runnig a Texas speed 402 and it is working real well. The other guys look like they have real good products to I hope to get more feedback. I do not really care for negative thing about anyone but I would like to hear why you like the short block builder that you have positive things to say about.

Thanks

Jack

IMO would go with a 418ci setup, almost same price extra bore size unshrouds the big valve heads and gets them flowing.

What would one of these generally cost?

Fraser, can you update the engine packages page to list 3 motors.

402 short block
418 short block
418 long block
page in reference: http://www.speedinc.com/enginepackages.cfm

And if possible please list the crank hp on the 418/L92 long block.

And would the 418 long block cost the same as the 402/L92 long block?

I would talk to Marcus or Allen over at Xtreme Horsepower in Texas. Extremely helpfull to their customers and build an awesome shortblock. They have several engine packages and are all a great deal. I ordered mine on a thursday and it showed up Monday!!

Heres deal, we haven't had any down time on our engine builds, so haven't had a reason to update the page. In most recent issue of GMHTP our 418 engine package is listed.

Depends on N/A or Boost however

$4650

CompStar rotating assembly, diamond or wiseco pistons, p/moly rings, Clevite H series main & rod bearings, ARP main studs.

Balanced rotating assembly, Alignment honed main journal, deck plate honed, deck squared, deck height set to piston specifications.
