Haha, cons.....there are no cons.

Hmmm, with a cam you can make close to 500 horsepower. Oh yeah the top cam gear will need to be changed to a 3 bolt from the single bolt that they use now.

You will not be able to run a 1x gear in an LS3 because of the single bolt. What a great excuse to install a cam while your changing the cam gear.

You will need the typical harnesses for the cam pickup, injectors and knock sensor. Do a search there is a good post abou the changes that you will need to perform.

Instead of paying an arm and a leg for an ls3 crate motor, I'll sell you my zero mile L92 crate motor and swap parts for one hell of a deal.

The GMPP LS376/480 is an LS3 with a GM Performance Parts Hot Cam installed.

The engine is part number 19171224

This engine makes 480 Horsepower. The LS3 has the LS6/LS2 yellow valve springs already from the factory.
As you know this cam isn't that radical.
I am getting ready for some testing on the dyno soon.

I will running the following,

L92 with a Lunati Voodoo 232/238 Cam and L76 Intake
LS3 With a Lunati Voodoo 212/218 Cam and a 4 Barrel Intake and Distributor
LS2 With a Lunati Voodoo 224/228 Cam, LS3 Heads and LS3 Intake

I will try the Hooker F Body 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 headers o each combination.

If I see anything interesting I will swap some of the cams around. If I see the potential I have a set of GMPP CNC L92 Heads to try also.

The L92 and LS3 are 58 tooth reluctors. I will run a MSD converter on the Carb engine and the GMPP Computer and harness on the L92.
The LS2 is a 24 tooth reluctor so I will run an 99 F Body PCM tuned with HP Tuners.
We will also be running the new Abaco Digital Mass Air Meters on both EFI Engines

Should be fun!

I wonder what that LS2 and Voodoo 222/228 (60511) will do with a LS3 top end
