Default LS2 402 Stroker

I'm looking to stroke an LS2 (402) and need some help with the heads and CAM setup. The motor is going in a sandrail and I'm trying to get 580 horsepower and 550 torque..

Here is what I was looking at...

243 Heads (CNC) - Fast Intake / 90MM - - Not sure on the CAM
L92 Heads (CNC) - L92 Intake / 90MM - Not sure on the CAM

Or is there a better way to go on this stroker ?

Thanks in advanced...

-Brian

Do you want those #s at the wheels or Flywheel?

If that's flywheel hp then yes that's easy. My 402 with ET 240 heads and a hydraulic cam setup made 470 hp thru a 5000 rpm converter and a Th400. I guarintee it's close to 600 at the flywheel.

580 horsepower and 550 torque = Flywheel..

Which one would be better to run ?

243 Heads (CNC) - Fast Intake / 90MM - - Not sure on the CAM
L92 Heads (CNC) - L92 Intake / 90MM - Not sure on the CAM

And what CAM ?

Sorry guys for the stupid questions but I'm in IT and don't know a great deal about this kind of stuff and I'm trying to figure this build out myself.

Thanks,

-Brian

The only reason I was looking at going with the 243 or L92 heads was because one of the builder told me the 241 sucked..

well i wouldnt say they suck .... its a money thing sometimes , yes 243's are better but im still putting down 500 rwhp and that was on a 50 mile motor ....so i know its in the low 500's now that its broken in . im very happy with my build now not to say im not going to upgrade next year to bigger heads ,but if money is no object than get a nice set of trick flow heads

If your looking a good head then a AFR 225 or TFS would be my choice. I can set you up with a great deal on the AFR's as I'm having a special on them but U can do the trick flows as well. I also have an All Pro fully race prepped head here as well ready to go that would be better than the other two but is also more money.

If money is no object go with the 7.0 liter?

Last year carcraft built a 6.0 with L92's and a mild cam with a 850 dp carb and it made 551 hp at 6800 rpm's. All on 87 octane.
