Default 6.2 LT1 oil pressure port

I am doing an LT1 swap and I need to locate the oil pressure ports. I know that there is one port on the front driver-side of the block above the recess in the casting. Inside that recess is another plug. Are both of those oil ports? The reason I ask is because the motor mount adapters I have block access to the upper plug.

Thanks in advance.

the lower port is a return into the open crank case. only spot I can find for pressure is the upper.

My question is what is the correct adapter fitting to attach a sending unit.

I have since verified that the lower port is just a return. I will have to mod the bypass cover for the oil cooler port to create a pressure port.

Thanks for chiming in.

Hello! Did you ever locate a port or a way to install an oil pressure sender? Also curious as to what port you are using for a temp sensor? Thanks!

Yes, I used the Dirty Dingo bypass cover with a built-in port. You can by the GM one and mod it, but the DD piece has a boss for the port, which is less likely to leak.

There is no factory temp ports that are no used, the DD acc drive has a secondary port for a temp gauge, which is what I used. Otherwise, you will need to use a radiator or radiator hose adapter port.
