Default L84 thermostat housing alternatives

Issue #37: I am trying to reuse the 4 core radiator from my 71 Lemans. The thermostat housing is clocked completely wrong - does anybody make an adjustable housing or one that aims the hose in a better place?

GSKMOTOR thermostat housing. It rotates and you can get it in 90,15 and straight up config. Don't know where it is made. There are several models out there. Used on Chevy 350's for years.

It does indeed fit, but just the bolt spacing. GM saw fit to make the LT thermostats about 60 thou bigger, so it won't fit in the LS style housing. You can see the right one is a bit smaller.

A $5 seal and a minor bit of grinding later the LS seal wraps around the T-stat and fit in the swivel housing. I used the OEM bolts as they had adequate thread engagement and had a hex head vs. futzing around with a hex key.

Glad you got it fixed. There is a lot of stuff on the Gen V that's a little different.
Is that water neck made of good material?
thanks

Looks to be - all they have to do is make the seal counterbore about 80 thou bigger and it will fit the Gen V's no issue.
