Yep 450 rwhp seems unlikely

Another possibility is that GM is using the Intel model ( make one chip but charge more $$ for the higher clocked versions ). Suppose what is being shipped is detuned and locked down on purpose but that later in the year GM offers ( for say 3K$ ) a software upgrade good for 50HP. Would you buy it ? Easy $$ for GM. Just a thought..

Cheers

GM has been underrating motors for quite some time. According to the specs, my car made in 2000 was rated at 305/310 if memory serves me, while the base C5 was rate at 345/340 (I think). With just an intake lid and a catback, I dyno'd 332/342, so needless to say, it was underrated big time.

I have no doubt the C7's will dyno 450+rwhp. Who knows how much extra power is locked up in a tune.

You're talking about f-bodies vs. Corvettes...the f-bodies did tend to dyno higher, but the Vettes were pretty much right on their ratings when it came to dyno numbers. The C6 ZO6s and ZR1s on average are about right on their power numbers, if not a little low for the ZR1s.

Yes, I'm sure a C7 will dyno 450 RWHP, but it won't be stock, or the dyno won't be accurate.

its simple: dyno readings started matching the advertised when GM started SAE testing and rating engines based on that. the LS7 was one of the first such engines to be rated that way.

textel, the e85 rant our troll left makes zero sense as that logic would mean a flex fuel truck and corvette of that same year can both use E85 which simply is NOT true. 1) the in tank pump would have to flow enough to support it. 2) the ecm would have to be calibrated to it and 3) in earlier versions, the injectors would have to be different.

i would bet the only thing the LT1 has that will work with E85 is the injectors and that the pump is only sufficient for the stock output on gasoline.

lastly, if BG was from GM, why on earth is he masking his IP with Russian IP's?

Russian IP ... Guy was on a work PC ( at GM ? ) and used a proxy in Russia to hide IP of the work system.

As I understand it, the C7 has two fuel pumps one low pressure and a high pressure one at the camshaft. If they were sized to handle the next gen ZR1 output ( ~750 hp range ) that means they have flow max about 1000 hp on gas. That flow rate would translate to about 700 hp max on E85.

Cheers

Unlikely...we've had GM employees on this site in the past that have posted in official and unofficial capacities (Robin L, GM Customer Service, Fbodfather, etc.), and their IPs have never been masked. Bigg_Gunz has posted using several different IPs, only one of which registers in the US from the Port Richey, FL area. The rest are Russian, and one random German IP.

Does that tell us anything conclusively? No, but the idea of a GM employee going rogue while acting out like he (or she?) has holds very little water at this point. People that are actually in the know don't have to resort to the type of name calling and harsh tone he has taken in this thread and the other.

There are still plenty that believe that he was legit, but those people are also likely to believe in the Tooth Fairy and any conspiracy theories that float their way. So far, his more controversial claims have not turned out to be true, no matter how much people wanted them to be. He's made an attempt at rationalizing that, which works in his favor since all you have to do is plant the smallest seed of doubt that makes you think "Hmmmm...that might be true." Social engineering at its finest.

Steve, are you SERIOUSLY trying to say the Tooth Fairy isn't real? C'mon man. I won't let your filthy-poop lies inhibit my beliefs any longer!

I tighten my tinfoil hat at you, sir!

I know the F-bodys were rated lower than what the engine could produce, but seems to be different today.

I have seen numerous "425hp" 5th gen Camaros dyno around 375hp to the wheels. LS7 Vettes are dyno # in the 450s, so I would say the C7 would not be the exception. My guess, the first stock dyno will be around 400RWHP.

the LT1 is not setup to run E85 according to GM. this DIRECTLY contradicts your so called 'inside' information.

btw, there were various GM products that were built to be flex fuel for years. doesnt make the corvettes, g8's, etc all e85 capable because of it.
But of course GM is wrong.....Big Nutz is the real guru of truth and knows it all...His mother tells him that every day...

And just what would I be apologizing for oh mighty one??? I think in time we may find several of his tidbits to be true. Regardless, I don't believe I will need to apoligize to anyone no matter how it shakes out.

All evidence points to this guy not being who he said he was, so if you want to keep drinking the Kool-aid, that's on you. I can assure you I won't be apologizing for anything I've said, nor the infractions I issued for his erratic behavior.
