Gen 5 LT1 swap

That's my plan with my 96 WS6. Come this winter I should finally be in the position to do it. The Edelbrock Victor Jr. LT1 heads use an LS style exhaust bolt pattern so regular old LS headers will work. The rest of it should be like swapping an LS.

I thought for sure I'd see a swap by now.

The motor will only work with transmissions offered for the Gen V if you want to use a factory style harness. You can use any LS based trans but you will need a controller for it (at the moment). Only thing you can really get away with on a 4th gen is the t56, nothing else will fit without a lot of work.
If someone wants to do the swap i have a motor for sale.

When I was at my performance shop yesterday, there was a fella there with a 2017 SS that was having his 9" rear end inspected for a leak but it seemed like it was just the breather tube. He told both the staff and me that he is sending it to Lingenfelter to have the 2019 ZR1 LT5 Connect and Cruise GM motor installed. He said it was 7K up front and 7K when complete. But looking on GM's site I don't see that motor available for Connect & Cruise? Either Lingenfelter knows something different or he has his wires crossed.

im not sure if this has already been brought up or not but i was wondering where everyone is getting the vacuum for the brake booster from after deleting the vacuum pump that was originally on the LT1 L83 motors, also another question where are people placing steam port after switching front accesories to either the holley or dirty dingo set up. if you could reply this would be very helpful.

As for vacuum, the Camaro LT1 engine has a fitting on the back of the intake for vacuum. As for steam port, the crate engine instructions say to make sure the radiator cap is higher than the heads. No mention of needing steam fittings.

Here's whats recommended for crate engines:
Engine Cooling System
A surge tank is recommended for removing air from the engine coolant, but as long as the radiator or surge tank is the highest
point in the system, then air will be evacuated from the coolant. The highest point, meaning that either the radiator or the surge
tank have a portion higher than the top of the cylinder heads. If they are not, then air can be trapped within the cylinder heads
and cause portions of the cylinder heads to overheat, which will be detrimental to engine performance and longevity.

So I figured out a way to get vacuum to booster from a truck LT1 intake here you go figured i share this with everyone. I used a 5/16" drill bit to make the inside hole a little bigger to get more vacuum. Then i used a 1/4" NPT tap to get the thread on the existing hole from the evap solenoid. I got a 1/4" NPT to 3/8" hose barb fitting put some medium thread lock on and installed.

My swap is basically done. 2017 Gen V LT1 6.2 into 1988 Camaro. I just need to get the car registered and insurance but everything seems to work fine.
Here's what I have done so far.
