Have there been any reports of lifter failure yet on the LT1's or is it too soon to tell?
I work at another shop when I am not here at BMR and we have had two C7s that have come in with lifter issues. I really hope that the lifters aren't going to be a big problem with these cars but from what I have seen it very well looks like they could.
This Katech valley cover is an awesome idea. We just finished up a cam swap in a C7 last week and figuring out how to block off the ports under the valley cover were kind of pain.

I have a L83 I'm in the process of swapping to a Camaro. Started the engine , which has less than 5k miles. It ran Very well the first 2 times I ran it for 2 min. The 3rd time it started missing. Opened it to investigate and found 2 of the AFM lifters broken. The lifters look as if they got stock in their bores and the bearings were flattened. The CAM is completely ruined. I did research on multiple forums and discovered there is lots of discussions on lifters failures for 2007 to 20013 DOD AFM GM engines. I am looking at several companies with DOD Delete kits for Gen V but every company I called so far has an ignorant 23 year old sales clerk with zero knowledge of the advertised parts and the worst attitude . With the long list of expensive issues to adapt these new engines, now add DOD DELETE KIT plus CAM lifters swap... Swapping a new GM Gen V family of engines is a nightmare.
I'm thinking pre 2007 non Displacement On Demand , Variable Valve Timing, Active Fuel Management is the way to go if good, simple, reliable, and economical is the goal.
I hope I don't get to start chanting "DEATH TO THE GEN V"
