Default Engine won't idle down.

So driving my car for a little while today and it drove fine at first, but after some hard driving she didn't want to idle down past 2,000 rpm. Almost sounded like I fouled a plug. I drove her back home and as soon as I pulled in the driveway everything was back to normal. Scanned it for any codes but nothing came up. The tps sensor is brand new, and I've cleaned the maf as well as the throttle body. Any ideas?

There's only one thing that can cause a high idle.....Too much air getting into the intake.

So its either the TB blade sticking partially open when you release the "air" pedal. Or your IAC (idle air control) valve is sticking partially open at times.

----It could also be a vacuum leak, allowing more air into the intake. But you said it corrected itself when you got home. I would think a vacuum leak would remain a leak until its fixed. But you never know.

So pop off the air bellow/hose and clean all inside the TB housing and the blade itself. Use Sea Foam spray. Then take the IAC valve out and spray it real good.

Take the IAC valve out really slow so the little spring doesn't go flying......

I recently took the TB off and cleaned it quite well. I'll probably just replace the IAC and see what effect that has. I've checked for vacuum leaks with a propane torch and found nothing. Thanks for the advise LS6427!.

So turns out I had a bad TPS. After I cleared the codes, and put a new one in it runs just like it should.
