Default L83 LT5 for cost VS. BTR PDS Cam and other cam ??'s

Hi all, I have recently discovered that my L83 has a bad lifter on cylinder 2. It's a stock engine with a Magnuson TVS1900 and Shorty Headers and Borla Exhaust on it. It's been tuned and DOD already disabled. It's been on there for over 100k miles with no problems until recently. I was looking into cams to swap out and learned the LT5 cam is a Non DOD cam, I have a connection to get discounted parts from GM so I would save a ton of my money by just buying my stuff from GM, i.e. cam, lifters, lifter trays, gaskets etc.

My truck is still running with VVT and when I talked to BTR about their BTR GEN V L83 PDS CAMSHAFT made for blower applications they lock out VVT, my question is why? The specs on the BTR cam are 210/23x due @ .050 and .639 lift on both valves. This also means I need to change valve springs, another cost. Is there another cam swap that would be good for my application out there I know TSP makes a kit as well. I will be reaching out to them tomorrow. I have never done a cam swap ont he LT based engine, do I need to change pushrods for the LS7 lifters? Is there anything else that is important to do while the engine is torn down? I will be installing 3 inch true dual exhaust as well when I am fixing the truck. Truck has 110k on it.

My truck is mostly daily driven however, I do pull with it allot it's got the HD towing package. I pull 8k with it regularly in there summer but most of the time it's empty. So fuel economy is important to but not paramount. I can tell you that I didn't loose any economy after installing and tuning for the super charger. Thanks for any and all advice y'all can give.
