Thats pretty funny that auto's don't make any power. A 6speed is definately more fun to drive, especially with some gears. I would say auto's get way better traction ( my 60ft, with street tires and 3.23 gear was a 1.702 ), but they are also way more consistent than a stick. Thats why I went auto this time. I run the same time over and over.

autos lose 18% vs a sticks 15% not much difference at all. plus the power curve of a stalled automatic cant even be compared to a stick car. much more power sooner, and flatter curve. never bog going into second if ur spinning, carries rpm thru shifts, never miss a shift, blah blah weve been thru this before. they win hands down.

perfect example. this is our buddy joshs' vette. notice what happens. the vette can actually pull on him, but loses 3-4 foot everytime he shifts to the superior automatic. ends up going nearly a full car down. imagine if the vette had a constant steady pull, he would been a car out rather.

Stalled auto for the strip and straight runs, stick for the twisties. Plain and simple

that was dirver error. it takes a great driver on every run to row the gears. sticks are so much more fun to drive. but for racing, autos get it done.

I didn't lose an inch, only auto I have raced. lol. If I wanted a drag car, I would get an auto hands down.

i dont care how fast someone claims they can shift, u will never outshift an auto. its instant, not to mention u never lose ur drive power(like when u push in the clutch) and u never go below 100% wot. its balls to the wall 100% of the time lol

An auto is fast when you are talking a street strip car. When your talking full drag racing you have to go manual. There is a reason prostock guys run manual tranmission. Leaving off a two step is just like a stalled auto. Just look up some in car pro stock videos, those guys never lift and row gears all day. If one of the fastest forms of drag racing uses a manual, then I don't see the argument.

Those are clutchless 5 speeds, bassically a 5 speed auto

basically a manual valve body auto. the point of not using a stick is letting off the gas, pushing the clutch, shifting, letting off the clutch, applying the gas. all that takes time, skill, precision, power. all of we we dont have enough of. lol

auto=push the skinny pedal that makes loud noises.

a prostock tranny is nothing like that. all it is, is a ratchet shifter. unless its a jerico or somethin, then it can be multiple levers. BUT. there is no applying the clutch, letting off the gas, depressing the clutch and applying the gas. so esentially it IS an automatic. bc it automatically changes gears without doing it manually by the driver.

No one let's off when they shift unless your a puss lol. Seems like manuals are always faster trap speed wise and ET until you start doing a stall and shift kits.
