So I bring up a transmission that proves a manual is faster and all of a sudden it is a automatic? I thought a auto had a stall, two pedals, and any shifting you are doing is maybe three gears forward or backwards. I dunno.... The liberty 5 speed is a amazing unit. Last time I looked it had a clutch, and you had a 5 speed pattern laid out in front of you for shifting so can miss gears going down the track. I will put money on a good driver with a liberty everyday over a auto. And to go with nasty gt you can use the clutch with the liberty if you don't know how to drive.

if i had enough money to do exactly what i wanted to to my car me n bob would put his theory's to the test. im 90% sure he would loose. if a car has a clutch then it is a manual shift car. end of story! if at any point you use that clutch to make the car move, it is a manual. pulling a lever to put the car in drive is a auto. plain and simple. how difficult is this to understand? if you wanna compair moddified auto's to stock sticks then so be it but keep apples apples and oranges oranges. plain and simple. the only way to squash this who debate is to take a completely stock auto and race a completetly stock manual. im putting my money on the manual every time. you guys keep refering to a stalled auto with shift kits ect.. then when you say pro stock cars have a clutch but not when shifting. wouldnt that be modifying a manual with what products are made for it to be more consistant? point is, you can modify an auto, and a manual. if it has a clutch its a manual.

I think my original statement kinda got altered a little bit. Speedinc told me that the 15/25% losses is what they normally see in their cars coming through testing/dynoing. Where this got off topic is the fact that im not aware of anyone that is regularly on this forum group that has a completly LSX non-street legal drag car. Therefore what i was meaning would most likely follow very closely with what shawn just said. Take a completely stock auto car and race it against a completely stock manual car with same rear gear ratios and everything. Because of the manual getting more power to the ground it should win. Now granted that is that the driver doesnt miss a gear or something. im sure this test has been done somewhere I have just never seen any results.

btw the liberty 5 speed is what is in the S.A.M. hugger orange camaro n/a 1001hp car. At the moment it is the fastest n/a lsx based camaro in the country. I checked it out at the holley ls fest.

As far as stock auto vs stock stick I call bs. I ran shayne 3 times and pulled him by half a car all 3. Everytime he shifted I pulled a little more

u definitely did not beat shayne. i was there for all races. i think i even got one of them on video. i was surprised because he aint the greatest driver
