i wouldnt go that route either lol...are you just lookin for a daily or something? lt1's arent too bad for the right price. i can keep an eye out if you're lookin. id personally never drive a v6 fbody haha

Aint nothing wrong with v6 fbodies. They have almost as much power as the lt1's and way less issues

lol bullshit. v6 fbodies dont have any power, and i always see them with blown intake mani gaskets, blown headgaskets, etc. and they sound like ass.

The issues I had with my LT1 was the optispark going out a few times and some minor oil leaks, especially the back of the intake. Otherwise it ran strong and I had a lot of fun with it. Even with the dreaded Optispark, I'd take an LT1 over a V6 anyday especially if you can find a clean low mileage one.. With the LT1 having 75-85 more HP than the V6 I'd kinda have to disagree with the V6 having almost as much power.

James and bo, the lt1 is advertised with more hp yes, but from personal experience actually racing an lt1 T/a with my 3.8 firebird, he had me by a car. So I say to you, 80 hp my ass. And james, how many gaskets did I change on my 3.8 ? None, and it had almost 170k on it when I sold it, friends don't let friends buy lt1's. Might as well buy a mustang....o sorry james...

My buddy just picked up and awesome deal on an LT1 car. It was a V6 swapped to the LT1, all done really nice to my surprise. Convertible, with new top. Dude was askin 1500 and my buddy got him down to 900. I figured it had to be a pile of junk, but it's actually not too bad at all. He said he would take 2grand for it as it sits.

When he told me it had a brand new msd opti spark, I told him to buy it.

chris, you need to get off the rock. if your v6 bird only lost by a car to an lt1, then whoever was driving the lt1 should never drive a car again. either that or the car was beat to fuck. v6 bird and lt1 shouldn't even be said in the same damn sentence, there is no comparison. someone would have to literally pay me to drive a pos v6.
