Default 5.7l VS option

I need regional knowledge to clarify a doubt of mine: was the 5.7 litre option on the VS Holdens (specifically the Grange) a 304 with increased displacement or an imported LT1? I've been searching down the internet looking for an answer and it's still unclear to me.

Thanks in advance.

G'day mate,

Sorry it took so long to reply, I haven't looked at this thread for a while.

The 5.7 litre early model Commodores including early VT are still the Australian Holden 304ci (previously 308) 5 litre engine but with a longer stroke crank, 3.47 inches from memory similar to a 350 Chev. From early VT on they switched to Chev LS engines, I hope this helps you.

Best wishes,
Jason.
