Their is one legally imported HSV that I know of for sale in the US, it is owned by a former GM exec and is a HSV VT GTS with callaway built LS1.
Their is a LHD LS1 ute at the proving ground in Warren MI.
Their was a Saudi national that had a VX SS in america under some circumstances.
However it is almost impossible for the public to import such a holden. If you really needed to do so, I would import a good holden ute etc. inspect it in australia send it over here as a race vehicle if possible. Find a GTO that is damaged but has a good dash.
It would be easier if you are in a state where you can register a bad title vehicle. You will need to remove the firewall and dash assembly and swap them to each vehicle. You will need to remove the windsheild and possibly motor trans from the ute inorder to correctly install the firewall. So as best to drop both with the subframe. Will need to swap steering racks. Will also need to replace some AC and brake lines for LHD.
This way you register the ute with the pontiac GTO vin which is attached to the dash pad of the now ute. If any problem arrises you can attest it was a custom restoration job on the GTO.
This is the only ligit way I can see getting a LHD ute etc. in america without getting into heavy red tape.

LS1 Sold in USA LHD under Pontiac badge
Hey,
Holden has been building LHD cars for export to USA for a while.
Notably the '04 Pontiac GTO. Check your local Pontiac pics against Holden pics on the www. and you will notice slight body changes such as grille, body kits (bumpers, side skirts, trunk spoilers, etc.) & of course badges.

The problem with getting one is they don't have the crash ratings the same as the GTOs did. GTO used heavier metals, gas tank moved, etc. to meet US standards. You could do like the BMW guys did with some of the more hi-po non US spec ones for a while and get one over seas and take it apart then ship it here as "parts" and then put it back together.
