Suggestions for 15' LS Fest.

Just want to ask the 6 speed guys a question. If there was a class what would u want the rules to be.
Would u want it to be a index format, bracket, or heads up.
I don't see heads up working just for the fact one set of rules does not fit everyone's setup to be competitive.
Just curious guys thanks.

I just swapped to auto but ran a 6 spd class at street car takedown in Muncie. I made it into the finals as a low/mid ten second car against a 9.99 vette. We both beat out much faster cars since the manual class is so unpredictable. I think a heads up 6 spd class would be fun.

If enough people showed interest in a 6 speed class, I'm sure there could be one setup. People are gonna have to show up or prove that they will show up.
How many people with 6 speeds showed up last year at the ls fest?
How would people react if they knew somebody like Ray Bulach was gonna run the class?

^^^ this. Ray will take it every time and he's just gonna get faster with more data. There will have to be a lot of rules and then multiple classes to make it work with any amount of car counts. That equals the need for sponsors and track time... good luck. As much as I think a M6 class would be cool It just doesn't seem too feasible.

What really needs to happen is a new heads up class for the 8.50 and slower cars. There are a ton of cars running in rumble that would love to race in the heads up category that will make a good field at every event. Basically what R/S was supposed to be when it started. With the probability of DR coming to an end and the current R/S being the spotlight class we need to be proactive on this subject so we can get it off the ground for 2016.

The 6 speed class would be fun and would make drivers prove who can get down the track consistently, but I agree that finding enough racers to dedicate an entire class to would be hard. I plan to at least hit Bowling Green, Indy, and Norwalk this year, so I would gladly be a class filler just to have a little more fun during the weekend.
If Rumble doesn't allow transbrakes again, I will probably stick to the 6 speed instead of my other car since my reaction times put me in a good qualifying position at LSX Shootout.

Just have those interested in the 6 speed class to send a deposit to whoever is running the event. That will give you a more accurate number of entries. I assume Ray B is the owner of the blue turbo record holding 6 speed car. His victory isn't guaranteed. There are other cars out there that aren't too far behind him and like someone said before, the 6 speed game is unpredictable.

Where can we find a break down of the current class structure? My son and I have been to the fest as spectators but want to bring our cars this year. Real street is out of our league which means we may be limited to true street but would like to see the classes to determine. He will be mid/low 10's and I will be mid/low 9's conservatively, both turbo 4th gens. Thanks

The rules are gonna have to be pretty lax for a heads up deal (all we would want I imagine) because the combos are all so different.
Let me know, I would love to help you out with this.
I could maybe find a few dollars as well for sponsorship, I just don't have any idea what kind of money you would be needing.

With respect to a truck class, I suggest you guys either start a thread on a forum or a post something on FB (or both) and show me the link to the traffic so I can share it to one of the Holley guys.
Not a bad rule of thumb to take all the interest and then assume that a 1/3 of the folks will actually show up.
