I honestly wouldn't mind an October even either... It is so stupid hot in early Sept and usually rains... Hot + humid=no good.

I ran year before last and didn't last year because it was so miserable.
Rained in the morning and then 95 degrees by lunch with sun shining.

Probably won't happen but man it would be nice to be 10 degrees cooler during the day.

What about a place where anyone can do dounuts, burnouts, just thrash their ride for 60 seconds ? let off some steam and put on a show. I'm sure there would be plenty up for it.

We were going to contact holley about this and what it would take to make this happen in a controlled setting. I cant see a Burnout contest with a decent prize or payout not having a good turnout. Who doesn't like to smoke some tires?

How about a contest to see who can swap out their street tires for for their slicks the fastest! HaHa. Swap them out make a pass on the dragstrip and swap them back . Total time to do it. Minus time back from the end of the track to to where you swap the tires. Fastest car on the track may be the slowest to change their tires.

What about stuff for spectators and kids to do ? Fun games. What about a two tire roll from A to B? Guess the tire size? What's the part? Maybe set up a little midway . Get sponsors set up their own game at their booth. Give away little stuff from the sponsors. My kids and wife would love to come but they get bored quickly . Something to keep everyones mind off the heat. Maybe a dunking booth ?

Swimsuit contest for the ladies?

5.3 engine teardown and build back contest?

all i can suggest is that the autox and handling portions of the event not be centered around a few cars with big money spent on them....the "favorites." The grassroots LS guys might as well not run anymore. Sorry for the rant, that part of the race seems like more trouble than its worth now, compared to the first few events.

Give the 6 speed guys their race....theres more of them than copos

Agreed that having the event in oct would be better. I believe every year I've been but one has been very hot. Down right miserable at times, and I'm use to working in the heat.
Love the 6 speed class idea. I'd enter it if the safety requirements weren't as strict.

I want a 6-speed, 19"+ wheel class so I won't look like the only fool out there trying to hook up 800+ hp on a 19" tire.

I go for the social and marketing side of it, representing ls1tech and my facebook group Boosted LSX, but if they needed more 6-speed cars to run, I'd do it. I better start practicing since I haven't been down a drag strip since the 06 power tour.
