New guy-3rd gen Guru. Hello all. Heard awesome things about this site and have been lurking for about a year so I finally decided to start posting up!! A little about me- 21 years old (on Wed) Currently stationed overseas in Japan. (USMC) Have been here for 8 months on a 2 year tour. Originally from Albuquerque NM. Grew up working on my dad's 69' Camaro and fell in love with third gens sometime during highschool. I have owned one second gen 81' v6 
then moved on to an 85' Z28 TPI, then an 84' Z28 Carbed 350 with spray, Now I currently own an 89' IROC-Z
A little about my car- It's an 89' IROC-Z28 with an L98 TPI. Came with a 700r4 but I ditched that to make room for an LT1 style T56. The engine is very close to stock, not too many mods, its a driver. Actually bought the car in FL drove to NM and back to FL TWICE with no problems what so ever. Then made it from FL to VA and from VA all the way back to NM without one problem the whole time so I am very impressed with the L98's as far as reliability. My future plans for the car is to do an LS1 conversion (already have the motor 00' T/A WS6 with 12k on it) and convert my T56 to work with the LS1. Ok ok that's enough about me for now. I look forward to all the Information I will learn while being a member of this site. I am young and have lot's to look forward to in my hobby.

Thank you sir! Yea it really doesn't take to much to do the swap, but while im at it might as well upgrade stuff like the K-member and suspension. Oh and the rear. Got that damn Aussie 9 bolt good for nothing....

Verdad Gallardo Yea for some reason a stock LS1 in a third gen is quicker than in a fourth gen. For whatever reason that is AWESOME! lol Cant afford a 4th gen anyway. Plus I like the 3rd gens better anyway!
