New guy. Well,
Dont have an LS1 as of yet, but im really signing up for my girlfriend.
She just recently scored a 94 Z28 w/ 82k on the odo as a straight over trade for a 97 dodge ram 1500 w/ 201k on the odo heh.
I personally own a 93 GMC Typhoon with a few mods and a 2000 xtreme thats gona be LS6 as soon as i can afford all the parts heh.
Anyway just signing up to soak up some info and maybe post up some troubleshooting questions reguarding an LT1.

just stall the SOB.. i thought i wanted an m6... i kept my ta though(a4)... bought an m6, loved it for about a week.... kicked myself in the *** for buying it by week 3, sold it.. then added a ported 90/90, PRC ls6s, and some more little things here and there.. hahaha

just got fired from my job too.. 
but 2 days later i had another one.. haha.. EVERY bit of my money goes to my car.. i do my research so i know what works/doesnt work.. and make sure every mod i get is the best bang for the buck.. sounds like you got a keeper with the girlfriend though! haha.. she a good lookin one?
