It's cool to see someone go from DSM to LS1.

I have a few friends who are die hard DSM folks and believe it or not they are very loyal to the whole turbo import theory.

IMO, you are more likely spend more money in a DSM vs an LSX motor to get similar HP and torque #s.

And like everyone has said, more reliability.

Just for kicks here's a simple experience, I have cam and bolts and my friend has a huge turbo setup in his DSM, fuel system, tunning and intercooler. He is probably putting down close to 380hp or more. I'm not taking anything away from a DSM still a very good engine that makes good HP #s but it takes alot.

And still couldnt pull me from 2nd gear, on the other hand he pulled me by one car in a 3rd gear run. And although I call that a defeat I was definitively out of gear in 3rd and 4th. A small 75hp shot and i would be looking for him in my rear view mirror. LOL

Anyhow his car has been parked since then.....didnt blow up but it takes so much to keep them running good. Mine has kept rolling!!!!! No looking back.

He now has an EVO IX which is sick but no real torque in those either.

I would be willing to debate the MPG...so far mine is GREAT.
