Default new to the ls world

Just wanted to say hi, I am new to the ls world. Purchased a 85 s10 with a 350 swap, and motor took a crap, so now I am on to a better world, doing a 5.3 swap I believe with a 100 shot, so should be fun, I will post some pics up later, but just wanted to say hey!

Well I am off tomorrow so I will prob take some pictures, it is not pretty right now but picked the truck up for a pretty good price, needs some love, but I will post some up for you guys, the 5.3 swap has not quite started as I am trying to figure out what cam spec I want and then find a motor at the best deal then will start rocking.

Cams considered mild in a 346 will sound bad *** in your car. Those 5.3's are pretty cheap.

Yeah I am doing a mild cam, very mild, but will be getting spray so will be pleanty for what I want to do. I really need to get my butt out and take some pictures for you guys.

very good results wih a ls6 cam, and lt headrs not completely neccesary for budget build. if anything have 5.3 heads milled for more scr.
go with th350 and good stall, with a 150 shot and that s10 will hurt alot of ppls feelings

Well it will be getting headers, unless I can find a place to port the stockers, I did that in a friends GTP and did pretty well I have not looked into the stock manifolds yet so I am not sure if any gains would be had or not. The truck already has a th350 with a stall I am trying to figure out the specs on, but also has the rear out if an older camaro with 4.10s and posi, attached to a b&m slap, which I really want to take out and put in a hurst promatic instead.


After talking to texas speed I will prob be going with a 220 224 110 comp cam with a 100 shot not sure if I want to stay carbed or flip over to fuel injection yet that is my biggest unknown so far, cheaper to do the fuel injection, but all those wires....no fun!
