Default Reading check engine light codes

Hi guys,
I am finding a short discription of the check engine light codes, but where can I get info on the correction of the codes. In other words, for example, my 2000 trans am is throwing code PO506, idle control system lower than expected. Where do I find what to do to correct this code?
Thanks,
wagxing

Found this with a quick search. https://ls1tech.com/forums/4267212-post17.html

If you do some searching on here you may come up with some other ideas. I'd try the stuff suggested first.
It could be a vacuum leak, faulty PCV, parasitic load on the engine (i.e. transmission)
or a faulty IAC valve (pintle valve stuck).

I haven't ran into this myself. Good luck!
