Quick crappy photo update (GF took the camera to work so my phone had to be used):

So I got my 04 GTO crank with only 30k

Checked and all journals were perfect, per a caliper (i know I need a mic ).

Installed some bearings and checked clearances with plastigage, everything looked great.

Removed bolts and layed the crank on bearings using 30w as my lubricant...

same for the bottom bearing halfs.

Big thanks once again to Joel, that factory service manual made everything like 10x easier, then searching for torque specs on my phone LOL.

Read that new side main bolts are prone to leaking, so I used just a splight bit of RTV...we shall see what happens.

Around 11 or so, I finished placing in all the pistons and installing the rod bolts...threw on the timing chain and oil pump.

More parts will be installed today along with much better pictures.
Quick question...the chain has no tensioner correct? Just sits on the sprockets? Still seemed a bit loose, any advice or is this normal.

Sorry, my internet has been down for a few days at home but here is a quick update.
Got my gaskets in, if anyone is interested I bought them off ebay, if anyone is interested I can give you the vendors name. Great price and fast shipping.

Came with:

MLS Headgaskets are quite awesome, and are a bit of a PITA to maneuver on the head studs.

Don't mind the crappy air filter, its just there to keep the TB clean until I get a maf and some piping.

Had a blast auto-crossing (passenger), getting to meet a few more people from the FC crowd. Great way to celebrate my 21st, along with the awesome Wings&Beer party my buddies threw me after.

Just need some longtubes, oil pan with windage tray and pickup, starter, alternator, & coils. Thanks everyone for the help/advice...have a great night.
