Default 2002 Formula Firehawk VS 2002 Trans am Firehawk

Hey guys I am looking at buying either a 2002 Formula Fire Hawk or a 2002 Trans Am Fire Hawk but I have a few questions that I am hoping some on here can answer.

1.) In 2002 which model produced the less quantity ( Formula or Trans am Fire hawk )
2.) Which model would have been more expensive to purchase new?
3.) Which model is rarer?
4.) Which model is better?
5.) Which model would be more of a collector item?
6.) Which model would have higher resale value?

Thanks Guys,

167 Formula Firehawks
1334 Trans Am Firehawks

Both for 2002. Depending on which options the cars have they can both be pretty rare but Im pretty partial to the Formula.

When Pontiac expanded Firehawks to both the Formula body style and the Trans Am body style, the T/A body style outsold the Formula every year. Does this make the Formula more rare or does it mean the Trans Am was more desirable and more customers wanted them? Glass half full or half empty.
The Formula is more understated. The T/A is more "in your face" The Formula has a slight weight advantage. The T/A has better seats. It all comes down to which one you prefer. To buy one over the other for any other reason really doesn't make sense. IMO.

Based on http://messageboard.firehawk.org/viewtopic.php?t=9043 the count is 1503 for 02 Firehawks, but it seems to change every couple of years.

Ive noticed this as well. Regardless, Formulas will be FAR more rare than a Trans Am.

98-02 Formulas
Total: 7199

98-02 Trans Am
Total: 72678

Disclaimer: These numbers could be off by a few thanks to the AWESOME record keeping and differing numbers on different websites.

I'd take the Formula Hawk over a T/A Hawk anyday. More rare and better looking, in my OP.

Depends on what you want to do with this car. Is it going to see alot of track time or more daily driver time ? I would go with the Formula FH just because of the rarity and the better weight for racing purposes. If your looking for more of a street wow factor then the TAFH is your car. I would also want to M6 car between the two (if one is). Just comes down to personal preference IMO. GL with your decision and be sure to post pics!!

Good luck with it. You might want to check the Firehawks onwers association website. They are pretty hard to find because tend to not sell them very often especially the manuals.

Thanks,
How about the "Vehicle Classifeds" section of the SALES DEPARTMENT?! 3/4 of the way down on LS1TECH's main page.

A person in my town is selling a 02 Firehawk formula SOM and he says it's the only one in that color. M6 and moderate miles. In great shape for 16,500 if I remember correctly.
