New to LSx but very impressed.
Been around horsepower and anything fast since childhood. Wrecked my first 50cc 4wheeler at age 6 and have never looked back.
I have built a couple cars for myself and friends that I am pretty proud of:
Mine: 1978 Malibu GBody 11.5:1 406, 700r4, 3.73 8.5 GN rear w/SS machine "lift" bars (that will take you back, still some of the best pieces I have seen to date.
1979 Corvette: Frame off build, Vette Brake suspension package 406 SBC, 700R4, L88 style IRS w/3.55's. That Acura's headlights looked pretty small by 130MPH....
1985 Pontiac parsiane aka. BBCFODO (on youtube). C950 injected Innovate WB 454BBC full roller valvetrain, ported Alum heads, 250 @ .050 .690 lift. 700r4 by Art Carr, 4k stall, full reverse manual VB, w/Tbrake, 9C1 8.5 10bolt Eaton w/4.11's, Strange axles. 3" mandrel exhaust w/xpipe and warning tickets to prove it. Fbody serp setup with ice cold a/c, cruise control, electronic aftermarket dash (0-60, 60-0, 1/4 ET&MPH), stereo system and one comfy *** ride. Custom Torque thrust 2's with 275 60 15 BFG DR.
Car made 442 WHP and 490 wtq @ 4800 RPM w/unlocked converter, then promptly ran out of valvesprings.
Best time to date in full street trim and full tank of gas: 12.42 @ 109MPH 1.9 60' launching @ 2200 on the foot brake. Up next it springs, slicks and 11's. Race weights is estimated at 4300lbs (she a big girl).
Nothing like the cool factor of a big motor in a big car...
I am living vicariously through forums since moving to Hawaii, tons of BA machinery but no track to run at anymore.

I am really impressed with the new VVT setup...499hp and almost 30mpg...damn (gmhightech)
What is the real limitation of boost on stock long blocks? I know the traditional sbc's can take a decent beating if your doing it on the cheap and short term.
With the flow of the ls heads and the 6 bolt mains you would think it could take a decent amount of power..on the other hand 500hp sbc used to be big news, now it's like what's wrong with your combo...most people today would be scared stiff in a true 500hp car but i guess we aren't most people
