new here...trying for a ls1 into 65 Impala SS Convertible Hey,
New to the board. Been trying to get a LS1 into a 65 Impala ss ragtop.
Started off with some bad info about the great LT1. Bought one that was supposed to run. Mocked up everything. Decided to check compression before starting. Two dead cylinders. Head gasket was toast. While it was apart, figured I would freshen it up. End of story, the engine was not worth fixing.
Decided to go the LS1 route now. Bought one from fleabay. Knew it was blown, figured I could get some parts off of it and maybe even rebuilt another with parts of this one.
I am not set on buying a complete power plant used. There is a local place with them reasonable.
I am sure to be pestering everyone here.
