Thumbs up First Camaro... Ever.

So... I broke down and bought a Camaro after being a long time Mustang fan. But it was just too much of a deal in my opinion. At least that is what I said at first. I love the car now. I live in South Carolina. I'm 21 years old and am in retail management currently. Enough about that. This is all about the cars right?

99 Camaro Z28 - debadged, 1990 ZR1 Vette wheels (11" wheels in the back), I'm not sure what all is done to the motor but what I do know is... Fast 92/92, SLP lid, Trick Flow heads, Comp cam (not sure on lift/duration), Long tubes, Electric exhaust cutouts, Magnaflow muffler with true dual 2.5" exhaust. It's a built A4 car with a TCI 3500 lockup stall converter. The car has a 3.73 rear end gear. Subframes, stock height, stock exterior other than tinted windows. The car dynoed at 420hp and 388tq. I have no idea if that is close to what it should be with the mods I have but it seems pretty good to me.

I'm here to learn more about LS1's and F-body's in general as all of my knowledge thus far is exclusive to late model Mustangs. Any advice is well appreciated no matter what. And thanks in advance for the welcomes I'm sure are to come.

Just judging off the Rwhp the cam is probably in the 232/234 range.. Total guess just going by numbers.. They are about spot on for that. Sounds like a clean ride!
I'd personally switch that converter out for a PTC or a VIG, but that is just me. Get some suspension under her and lower it!

Congratulations!

Depends on the condition but it sounds like someone cared for it mod wise. They went FAST instead of ls6, they went Trick flow instead of some ls6 or 5.3 heads, etc etc... If it is a nice car, I think that is right about right on the price!

EDIT:: If you love it, you can't put a price on it!

Sounds like a good deal to me! You'll be much happier in a Camaro! The LS1 is a great motor!

Thank you. The guy I bought the car from is giving me some boxed in control arms and 315 Nitto 555R's too. And I'm trying to buy an SS hood off of him. But so far I'm very happy with the car. It's in great condition on the exterior and the interior looks like a 2010. Not a single flaw what-so-ever. The only thing wrong with the car is that my cut out's mysteriously quit working tonight after installing my Pioneer head unit. But the switch and wideband gauge is mounted where the left side center a/c vent was. I'll have to take a picture of that to really explain. I'm hoping I just might have knocked something loose in the wiring. I'll find out tomorrow though I suppose.

Btw myc, I love the turn signal lights and the fender stripes. I might have to steal that idea if you don't mind. That looks mean. I wanna do something with my front bumper cover insert too to open it up. I have the stock piece but I don't care for how it looks. Just my taste there though. Not meaning to offend.

Yea man, Go ahead and do it! Yea I blacked out all the turn signals, I think it looks better! and a lot of people open the front grill. Most of the time they do it for front mount intercoolers tho lol

That definitely looks nice man. Although, I don't see myself going with forced induction at this point. The car is already a lot more than I'm used to now. Maybe later on. I have an eventual goal of having a low 7 second street car in an 1/8th. I have no clue how far off I am from that at this point.
