Default squid!

Hey there...

My names Jesse. Just bought my first ls1/t56 car (00 SS) slp sticker and all. Super excited. Picked her up for 1800 bucks in running condition. The car was in a front end collision and whomever put it back together really didnt care about the car. I plan on bringing the car back to life. Anyways I have a couple of questions....

The fuel pump is actually going out and I was wondering what you guys recommend I replace it with.... I'm planning on doing heads and a cam (nothing outrageous). I just want to see what you guys recommend.

and 2

I want to not drop the rear end so I have been reading about the pump install cutting the back I have a grinder so I plan to use that. What do you guys patch the hole with?? Thanks.

You don't have to drop the rear in your 00 to replace the pump.

I replaced it w/ a dealer part, so I ll let others chime in.

does this sound like a fuel pump before I get started....

I can hear the fuel pump "prime" then start the car fires not everytime but almost, rough rough idle almost like its cammed and then dies. If I press the gas pedal its almost like it dies quicker. I gave it a couple sprays of starter fluid and it runs longer.

I depressed the fuel rail and no fuel is coming out. I changed the fuel filter and no change. Thanks again for the info.

I know will probably get moved to a different section now. Haha.
