My idea of "new" is LT1
My idea of new is an LT1. After spending the last 10 years working in a traditional hotrod shop, that's saying something. For a while there, overhead valves were "new" to me.So, anyway, I just picked up a 67 LeMans that I'm turning into a road racer. For now I'll use the stock frame with multiple chassis upgrades, but eventually (when I rob a large bank) I'll go this route... www.gmachinechassis.com
I tried long and hard to think of a lightweight engine that would get me to 450-500 hp at the crank that wasn't an LS1 because (no offense) its a pretty common swap these days. But it is hands down the best choice.
Just checking in and saying howdy.

The LS1 is definitely lighter, but I think even with the iron block the front end might come up a bit in the lemans, more so with the LS1.
