Welcome to the site! As others have stated, the difference between the LS2 and the LS1 is noticeable. You did say the car would be a daily driver though, and for that purpose, the LS1 GTO will be plenty of car. Someone already mentioned that you can upgrade the engine later, if you choose to. For your listed purpose though, I'd say go with the LS1 GTO.
