Default 6.0L newb/ York Pa

Hey everyone. I had some friends tell me about this site for a while and I Figured this lookd like a good place to give my Innitial Hello . I recently Purchased a Super Sexy 2004 Silverado SS and luv it to death. Was told there was some SS fans on the site here as well. So here i am

I am new to the whole V8 thing , and Im not sure, but is this Engine in my truck a True LS1 ? or just a 6.0 they put in the trucks ? Im assuming the internals are quite diff, but i did see someone talk about throwin an old rusty LS cam and some Z06 valve springs into their truck when they did a rear mounting turbo build.???

Welp lots to learn , So time to start reading .

Erix

It's not an LS1. It's an LQ9 vortec truck motor. Most of the parts are interchangeable however. Nice truck by the way. Now start modding it.

Welcome. I'm from the Scranton area. If you look at the RPO codes in your glove box you will find one that starts with an "L" and that will be the engine in your truck.
