i was looking at a 2000 stang gt before i picked up my 98 z for like $1000 less..
I regret even considering the mustang, it was an auto, and had ...no torque compared to my lovely m6 z28.

oh yeah, auto is fail from the start unless its a powerglide, there are so many mustangs out there and 90% suck terribly, but youll find one every once in a while thats worth the buy, i love my gto thoughg (:

Did you find the knocking noise? I doubt its piston slap unless its only when the motor is warming up. Has the car ever been worked on? Fate had your car stolen. you were meant for a GM.
If you ever considered believing in that sort of thing, this is the time to do it.

lol, well, i was told everything is fine, she drive great, im getting my exhaust put on saturday its so quiet im used to my loud mustang lol!

Let me know when your ready for some heads and cam. I'll be rebuilding my motor this winter with truck heads and a custom cam. I'm looking to get 550 and atleast 500 torq. Right now with the LS6 heads and cam I'm getting 475 RWHP and 430 Torq. Might be more, re-tuning the car next thursday now that fuel issue is solved. Goodluck with the car. What exhuast setup you gonna run?

nice looking gto... i just picked up an 06 gto brazen orange a couple weeks ago.. so i'm new to them too. definitely a better choice than the mustang 
haha .. another good forum to learn about the gtos is gtoforum.com. i became a member on that too. so if your looking for info only about the gtos, thats a good site to be on too
