new from ms
Hey, I just joined this site today. I'm from Mississippi. Two weeks ago I bought a 96 z28 camaro, and just went through everything to make sure the car is reliable. I am now wanting to start putting performance mods on it, and was wondering where is a good place to start. The car is currently all stock.

BTW, the car is an automatic, and I'm not completely new to modding cars, I had a 98 mustang gt that I had built up, but I just threw parts on as they came across me, and I'd like to do this one right.

Welcome... welcome... welcome
What part of Mississippi are you from?
As you will find this site has a lot of info on how to mod your fbody from front to back, all it takes is a little search. Then some.....
When I first got my fbody and asked a similar question, the first few things I was told I'll tell you. Which is before you begin to mod your car figure out what it is that you're wanting to do with your car. Do you want to drag your car or do you want a good street/DD performer?
After deciding which one of the two you want, then decide on your budget. How much money you have to spend will determined how much hp you gain.
As a wise man once told me it use to be about cubic inches now it's about cubic dollars. lol

Thanks, I'm in the top northwestern corner of Ms, about 15 minutes south of Memphis TN, and I'd like to have a nice DD but with the option to be able to dog most cars on the street, as of right now I have quite a it of disposable income. I was thinking maybe a CAI, long tube headers and x pipe, new gears in the rear, and maybe a programmer. Does that sound like a good start?

No problem, there is a link on the home page where you can ask different questions and others will/can help you as well, but remember the search box is very useful.
