Default new guy; with big hybrid swap

Hi I'm Matt. From Sarasota Florida. I'm currently in the process of picking up a 93 240sx. I'm also in the process of finding a 5.3 vortec. I would like to do mild build up of the motor. Enough to run 8-12lbs of boost. I'm new to the Chevy world. I'd like to find the best place to pick up parts. Ls heads cams etc. also does anyone run boost on a 5.3 with stock internals? And I know every one says chevys all interchange. So I'm making sure the 5.3 mates up with the tremec T-56 out of the late 90s Camaros, firebirds etc. anything anyone would like to add would be great. Experience this or where to get products are gonna help a lot. Thanks guys.

No problem! What do you plan on doing with the car? Is it going to be drag, drift, auto-x, street? I think that would open up a bunch of different options for the set up you would like to go.

Thanks,
Kyle

Well I'm more of a drag kinda guy. I love drift a lot. But I live a lot closer to drag circuits. I'd like to eventually step up into the 10.5 outlaws class. Mild build on motor with mike turbo. All while keeping it a turn key weekend driver. A big dream I know, but I plan on cutting weight to 2850 with two Ppl. Shooting for the 550-650 hp range

Well, we can defiantly work something out. I think hitting 2850 with two people is possible in these cars. Just depends on how big the people are...

For a 550-650hp range, there are a huge number of options. With boost, those numbers are even easier with the right combination. Naturally we have the products that can help you get that.

Either way, sounds like allot of fun! Keep at it!

Thanks,
Kyle
