What Tranny Should I use for 1978 C10 Hello All, first time poster,
I just acquired a 1978 Chevy C10 Shortbed PU (2WD) that my son and I are going to try and fix up for his daily driver. I just purchased a 2002 4.8 Chevy Vortec that already has the wiring harness altered to work with all of the non-computer stuff on the truck.
I am trying to figure out what transmission I should install with this engine. I've read some posts from others as guests on various sites, but I think I'm going to need some questions answered.
1. What transmission is the best (and least problematic / financially responsible) to install with this engine? Keep in mind I have no intentions of making this a hot rod, just a nice looking classic truck.
2. Will I have to change my exhaust manifolds and if so what is the best way to go?
I know there are a ton of things I will have to ask later, but this will get me started.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
