490rwhp Z71 rcsb and 470rwhp WS6
Heard of this site for years, first time here. Had several LS vehicles, but most recent is my 01 ws6 Ive had for a few years and a truck I just bought. Im in my 30s and my oldest graduates high school in a couple weeks. Spent most of my life raising kids by myself on a 25 grand a year budget, recently decided to buy a standard cab pickup, found one online from texas (I live in rustville iowa), rust free truck and it happened to be fresh built, guy had a growing family and had to sell.
Dark blue 2000 silverado 4x4 Z71, fresh 6.0 with trick flow heads, LSX 102 intake, forged internals, 3600 stall, supposed 10 grand in the build and tranny built to handle 900hp, long tubes, etc, etc, built at Buddy Rice machine shop in oklahoma city, only a handfull of miles on the build.
Glad I talked him down thousands cause shortly after buying it runs like crap, never the same, dies all the time, almost undrivable, backfires through the tb at shifts under normal driving, very frustrated. After owning it a couple weeks and occasionally running full throttle the trans shifts soft with big delay between 1st and 2nd. Not impressive performance. Now today starts slipping in 2nd gear under normal load.
Ive put maybe 1000 miles on it in a couple months, takes 20 tries to get out my driveway with it dying.
My 50k mile ws6 is a nice car, easy life with patriot heads, nice cam, long tubes, yank 4000, 9 inch rear, and waiting for a 2nd 4L60e rebuild in the last 2000 miles over the last 2 years from a local builder.... and btw my last truck burned up a 4L60e after 10k miles on a rebuild from yet another builder.
Ive killed several 4L60e's in a few years with no fluid loss and very few miles of use, ready to give up, debating on a noose or a gun.. I cant afford to keep this up. Im here for help if it can be found.
Thanks if you read this far..

Love the Yank 4000, it makes the car so fun to drive, and makes me end up playing with the throttle all the time. Life is good when the transmission isnt junk... And I had a 3600 stall from texas speed before, it was nice for use with a stock engine, but the 4000 was better for this car with the heads/cam.

Just bought a B&M transmission for the WS6. B&M says it will hold 600hp, got my yank 4000 stall flushed, about to put it all in the car. And if I dont get back on here for a long time its because its working good and Im out destroying tires..
