New LS1 owner from Vero Beach Florida
Hi guys. I just wanted to introduce myself. Ive been part of the website for a very long time just havent been active since i never had an LS car. I just picked up a bone stock unmolested NBM 1999 SS M6. I recently got a promotion and am finally making a somewhat decent living and figured i need to grow up and sell my Daily driven 2005 Gsxr 1000. As soon as i sold the bike i had been looking like crazy because i didnt have a vehicle. Found a nice 86k mile '01 SS that needed AC fixed a a few knick knacks. Guy wanted more than i wanted to spend so i pulled the trigger on the '99 which had 103k and was in much better shape. Picked her up for $6500 cash and i freaking LOVE this car. Even with the stock exhaust you can hear the LS1 open up.
Anyways im not a mechanic but i can do a lot of stuff on my own with my laptop opened up in front of me.

welcome! sometimes i wish i lived in florida. if you decide to start modding checkout an old article super chevy may 2004 ls1 dos & donts. i would begin with an airlid. flip yours to see if it has plastic baffles or smooth. (smooth is good) then maybe add a magnaflow catback. next a good tune. cheers! ps 99's have this egr thing hanging down inside the front of the intake manifold. free mod go to install university to see pics but basically pull it out & cut off the excess 1 inch & 1/4 if memory serves.http://www.installuniversity.com/ls1...r/ls1-egr.html ; also free ram air mod http://www.installuniversity.com/ls1...e-ram-air.html
