Picked up an LS1 for a great deal
Hello everyone,
Very excited on my new car (new to me). A little history on my first LS1. So I was looking on Craigslist and found a awesome deal on a Camaro. I didn't believe it so I called the guy, he said "It's still for sale". I told the wife we are going to the Big City. Once we got there, I met the guy at the bank. Then I saw my dream car, 99 Camaro SS. Its a pewter color with t-tops, LS1, 6-speed, and original SS wheels. The guy signed over the title and I gave him the money. We shook hands, gave me the keys and we check into our hotel. Once at the hotel, I compared the VIN #s on the title and car, they didn't match. AHH! I got screwed. I thought that's why it was so cheap. So I called the guy back, no answer ... crap. Called again and left a message. Great, now I have a car with no title. 4 hours of disappointment, he called back. He said "I'm so sorry, I gave you the wrong title." We met again and then he gave me the correct title. phew. Relieved. So I told the wife I need a stiff drink. Ha. The next day we drove back home. I finally got it registered and now saving money to upgrade the SS. In all, always check the VIN #s during a sale. HaHa. FYI, I bought the Camaro for $4800 with 49k miles. - DZ
