Hello everyone I'm chevyboy from Alabama
I have a 75 Chevy caprice convertible. I'm trying to choose between the LS 5.3 or the 6.0 & 4l80. I want to have at least 500 horsepower. So I need a good combo to go use. All the steps!!! Can anyone help please???

500 horse at the crank of at the tire?
500 horse at the is easily done at the crank.
Plenty of 6.0 combos that'll get you there. Cheapest one is basically taking a paid of L92/LS3 heads and put it on top of 6.0 and cam it proper to your weight, tire, gears etc....
Don't forget to add a nice set of headers and a good intake.
Plenty of other ways to get it as I already mentioned it just basically come down to what your budget allows.....
Do you want to go carb or fuel injection?
If you have money for aftermarket heads go that route.

Cheapest route to get 500 at crank using fuel injection it to get these components and put them together.
~6.0 LQ4/LQ9 (aim for a LQ9 out of a escalade) higher compression
~ factory LS3 intake with the rails/injectors
~ Nick Williams drive by cable 92 mm throttle body
~LS3/L92 heads ( go after a LS3 cylinder head) they have the lighter valves. The casting number is 821.
~good quality lifters.... I recommend 5315 morel lifters at the least on your build.
~ aftermarket headers with a true dual exhaust system
~ trunion kit for your rocker arms
~ cam from a sponsor or member...plenty to choose from on the cam specs
Hope this helps you
