Default Newbie From Texas

What's going on guys figured I'd join this forum, not sure if I'll fit in here but oh well. I am currently an owner of a 06 Mustang GT getting ready to make the move over to the LS family. This weekend I'll be scooping up a 2008 GP GXP. Yeah yeah yeah FWD fail, I know lol, always had a thing for these cars so I jumped on the deal when it came onto the table.

Anyway my current 06 GT is slow as hell (3v FTL) but currently has a 62mm BBK Throttle Body, FRPP CAI, SCT tuned, SLP exhaust, FRPP springs, and low miles (62k miles).

The GXP I am buying is pretty much stock, appears to have some sort of exhaust work done, not sure what yet. It has 104k miles. I was told these cars are prone for transmission issues, thankfully the original owner (previous owner) had taken care of that already. I don't expect to be fast or even as fast as the Mustang but meh oh well. Anyway hope to gather some helpful info here...

Idk if I'll be doing any runs anytime soon, my Fiancee and I were recently involved in a bad car accident 2mo ago when some lady slammed into my 04 GT. Thankfully we're okay for the most post. Fiancee got most of the injuries since the impact was on her side..

Lol we'll see I gotta make sure it's road worthy before I give it hell. Knowing these GXP's are prone to transmission failure I'll be expecting the worst

I had a white 06 GXP I traded to a guy from NRH about a month ago. They're pretty quick cars and nice in the inside. Solid every day driver

I been trying to get as much info as possible about them, I hear they're quick. I mean won't be as quick as my GT stock vs stock but then again the GXP weighs about 300lbs more.

Well the 2v's make anywhere from 215hp-260 lol the Earlier 4.6 motors made 215hp. Then in '99 They improved the 2v and power increased to 260hp/300tq. Then in 05 Ford released the 3v which increased power to 300hp/300tq. They are all 4.6 engines but have been revised over the years. The 3v 4.6L is essentially a completely different motor. From having 3v's per cylinder to have VVT, drive by wire, completely different intake. Just a completely different motor. Stock the 3v will run 13.9 from what I read the GXP stock will do 14.1
