Newbie From NC. Hello guys, I'm as new as you can get to the LS world, but not to the performance world. I have a factory original 1969 Z/28 that I am restoring with my two sons, and I also I'm into performance boating. I recently got the bug to do an LS swap on a square body chevy pickup because of all the positive things that I have read about them. Guys are taking the old non aerodynamic trucks that were getting 10 to 12 mpg with very little performance, and converting them to an LS style motor and overdrive trans and gaining mpg and performance. So I purchased a take out, best I can figure a cast iron LC9 5.3 with the 706 aluminum heads. I know the motor has a bad cam in it and it has around 135000 miles on it so I plan on freshening it up and doing some upgrades. Any advice would be great. Until then I plan on reading a lot.
