Default I have found lots of good info here, had to sign up.

Hi Everyone,
Name is Anthony, from Salt Lake City, UT. Hobbies are computers, firearms, audio and Chevys!!
I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 Z71 5.3L with 150k, bought it with 26k.
I had an exhaust manifold bolt break that required pulling the head.
That has lead me here, where I have been learning a lot. Here are the upgrades I am currently working on.
LS2 Timing Set
Chevrolet Performance High volume oil pump
Chevrolet cam plate
TSP 216/220 112 LSA Cam
Chevrolet LS7 Lifter
TSP Chromoly push rods
Chevrolet lifter trays
Chevrolet LS Rocker arms and stands
PAC 1218 valve springs
Heads resurfaced and valve job
ARP head, cam, oil pump and header bolts
Romac Balancer
K&N cold air intake
TSP stainless headers
Magnaflow Cats
TSP stainless y pipe
Oregon Transmission 4L60E Corvette Servo and long pin
160 Degree Thermostat
Looking for parts for the 05-06 electric fan upgrade.

Read more and completely rethink your mod plan. Most of it is useless money wasting. Ditch the LS2 timing set, high volume oil pump, cam plate, LS7 lifters, lifter trays, ... Nevermind, just do the cam, springs, pushrods, and maybe headers. The only help the rest of the list will give you is the weight savings from your lighter wallet. You could spend the same amount of money and be turboed with real HP gains and less wrenching. Now that I think about it, you could go straight to the turbo route, and spend money on the transmission and tuning for far better results.

This has become very expensive. A lot of those parts I am replacing just for reliability as I am already in there and the truck is getting up there in mileage. I don't want to be getting in to it again any time soon. and you are right it has become a lot of wrenching.
