Probably the only Asian with an LS1...from South Carolina!
Well, I finally did it. I own an LS powered car. Long story short is that I traded a RHD MR2 turbo for an LS1 powered RX8. The engine runs smooth but the transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Luckily I have the funds to do so.
I also want to tidy a few things up and get her on the road breaking ricer's hearts. Which is a weird thing to say since I am Asian. She is a project for sure and I was really depressed right after the trade, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of guys on FB have been real supportive and suggest that I keep it instead of selling it. I want to make the car look somewhat ricey (gt wing) but loud and proud. So the mufflers have to go and install an X-pipe.
The only thing that boggles me is all of the transmissions. Im searching for a 4L65e to replace the current 4l60e. I just want the car to run and for it to be reliable. I dont intend to add any power to it for a LONG while. I am a typical Asian and not use to a V8 (I did own a foxbody mustang, but that doest count since its slow).
Anyway, thanks for having me and I look forward to bugging you all with questions.
