So I installed a 2005 GTO LS2 and 4L65 in an 82 C3, man it looks sweet!! Unfortunately the looks sweet didn't last long when trying to drive it. All original wiring, ECM / TCM, gas pedal with the engine. Still get a nagging U0101 code on the scanner. When idling or giving gas stationary it sounds great. When I try to drive it, it misses something terrible and won't get out of it's own way. I can't seem to locate any reason for the communication error.
Any thoughts or suggestions out there? I'm wondering if the salvage yard botched the flash of the computer or if there is some wiring messed up. I can't seem to find how the ECM talks to the TCM.
Any assistance and advise is highly welcomed.
Thanks
I assumed that all connections were completed as per instructions in my stand alone wiring harness. Obviously not, as my TCM had no connections to the data bus or power applied. Someone in a post on another site said don't worry about that 26 pin white plug that's on the TCM harness. Well that plug on the donor car went to a distribution block to supply battery voltage, accessory power, CAN -, and CAN+. As soon as I found all the connections and spliced them to the ECM, no more U0101 code.
Two words sums it up, Holy Crap!! I should have swapped that crossfire for the LS2 a long time ago.
