Default Baja 7s

Hello, my welcome method is to state some stories, one such was PJ's Bronco 1970 Baja 1000 race victory.
My job was to tighten the Beer truck's lug nuts.

Today my customers race Class 7S with the Ford V-6 engine.

The ablitiy the have AJ "Baja Shop" supply motor mounts may be of some help.
I also can supply the trans adapter plate.

My engine choice would BE a 5.3 GEN-IV AL engine.

Would you like my help ?

Welcome

Lance

What did you have to do in order to get the 5.3 in? I have the same year truck and looking to drop a 5.3 in mine. Also what tranny did you use? T-5?

So I uses the factory Ford lower rubber mount from my 3.0. Built the upper to the motor. Used a 4l60e. I bought a crashed suburban for 300 bucks and took everything I wanted off it. Ecm harness trans motor. Bought a painless ls harness cause I hate wiring. When I did my first test fit I took the front diff out for easy centering and mock up. Set motor and trans first time and found with the right setup you actually use the factory trans cross member. Just drill a couple new holes. No fire wall mods needed. Built my own oil pan to clear the front diff. Exhaust manifold are 2007 trailblazer ss manifolds that have been well modified. Cut a couple inches out of center and turn lower exhaust flange 180 to fit between framerails. Exhaust has been the most time consuming part of the entire truck. Oh also where steering column runs have to notch and flip that piece and weld it back in. Then ported and smoothed all welds inside and out. Got a few tricks for welding the cast manifolds. Factory truck I take manifold fits under hood. I've done this entire project as cheap as possible. I built everything in my two car garage with a welder and a hand grinder. I'm into the 5.3 gen3 setup for under 1200 bucks for the entire swap running driving and tuned. Now I'm using a 10 Escalade 6.2 gen 4. Not quite as cheap and I went through this one. It sits at 465hp at tires. Close to matching torque. Truck runs okay. Want to go turbo. Just know nothing about where to even start. Hopefully this helps a little.
