Default New to the Boards- '79 Trans Am Pro Touring

Hey guys,
New member here, very long time reader. For the past 7ish years, I've been working on an all original '79 Trans am 10th Anniversary, and it's finally time to get serious.

I've got the original power plant pulled out, an olds 403, and am restoring it and shelving it. In it's place, I've got an LQ4 going in. LSx4U is currently assembling the short block, less a cam. I'll be running flat top pistons, and I'm reaching out to our friend Pat G to custom spec a cam out for me. I've got a nice set of freshly ported, polished, and valve job done 243's with nice big valves ready to go. They'll see a flow bench in a few weeks but I'm hoping for the neighborhood of ~280ish CFM. So I'm well on my way with this LS build.

Anyway, glad to make ya'lls acquaintance. Once I get some pictures and some more parts together, I'll start a nice build thread for the LQ.

As for the car - this is going to be a complete restoration; currently in the body shop. Should have the painted body back early next year. Other than paint and interior, it's going to be a complete pro-touring build. The silver interior is too sweet to give up.

Headed to Dave at PTFB for the complete GT setup, frame connectors, solid body mounts and G-Braces. Looking at 17's with some meaty tires out back.

I've got a few more questions on building out this engine and some components that I'll probably be asking around about, but for now, I'm excited to be here!

JJ
