Default Engine Building Newb

Hello all, I have somewhat recently discovered a passion for cars, specifically drifting and engine building, and have been consuming as much on the topic as I could over the last few months (so much so that I'm heavily considering a career change.) I've been planning for my first build for a few weeks and I just want to make sure I have crossed my t's and dotted my i's. I'm not sure how much I'll be posting, I'm mostly here to absorb as much knowledge as I can (and I hate getting flamed for starting threads it's whats kept me from joining and participating in any forums over the last decade).

I'm planning a forged ls3/l92. all advice is absolutely welcome

Well Fry, first off, dont listen to Bender.
Second, what will the ls3 be built for and what is it going in?
Third, budget.

Thats it.

lol I try not to.

The engine is being built for drifting and it will be going into a 240sx...the initial budget is 15k (not including tranny) essentially I need as much torque as possble to be able to break the tires loose and keep em smoking while i'm going sideways no matter where I'm at in the rev range. The internals need to be strong enough to withstand compound charging if i make it up the ranks but I plan to use e98 from the get go, and a meth injection once I introduce forced induction to help keep things cool and detonation free.

Long term there really isn't a budget. I've wasted an ungodly amount of money on trivial crap with nothing to show for it for years, this finally feels like something real and substantial (and truly the first thing I've felt passionate about since my football days ended.)
I want to do this right, I'd rather have to wait longer to save up and buy the right parts than cut corners and end up with an expensive explosive.

Thank you for the quick reply : )

None, I was advised not to buy anything until I had a good understanding of what I wanted and how it would work together. I can tell you what I have planned though:
ls3/l92 aluminum block,
brian crower forged stroker rotating assembly with a 4.07 bore, 4" stroke, 6.125" connecting rods and an 8.8:1 compression ratio (supposed to be solid up to 1500-2000 hp per internet hearsay)
The cylinder heads I'm struggling with, I was looking at the chevy performance heads but I've been reading up on intake runner size and effect on torque and now i'm thinking about the smaller edelbrock cnc heads (230cc intake, 80cc ex, and maximum lift of .680)
TSP's Bald Eagle Cam for boosted applications bu, @ .050" 229/242 (it doesn't give anymore information, it's their secret i guess)
Scorpion Race Series Rocker arms
With lifters Im not sure if I should use a lifter guide or a link bar, I've not done much reading on that yet.
and as far as intake manifold, I'm back and forth on starting with an intake manifold or just spending a little more and starting with a twin screw sc.

I'm thinking about holley for the ecu and wiring

I haven't picked out spark plugs or fuel injectors yet but as I understand it with e98 I'll need a cooler spark and high flow Injectors
