New guy from Raleigh NC I'm new here and currently drive a 02 silverado 5.3 with a ls6 typhoon intake and short tube headers with 170,000 miles
in the next 6 months or so I hope to have a $15000 budget to include beefing up the tranny and either doing motor work or a motor swap, goal is to make 500rwhp either NA or procharger, any advise will help, it is a daily driver with 285/75/16 mid tires with 2 inch wheelspacers, plan to keep it a daily driver go anywhere truck with more HP and speed, not necessarily looking to take to the track just go fast.

thanks Marcus, per my wife ima have to wait a year or 2 before i get to do this, but I think I have decided to go with a LS3 with a stage 3 cam from brian tooley with trick flow heads and kooks long tube headers now the only think left to decide is what intake to go with
From Golsboro NC. Currently driving an 85 c10 LS and building an El camino LS3 in the works. I had a 5.3 in my c10 with a lame builder and it blew up so I switched to a thompson motorsports 6.0 and couldnt be happier.

I have not yet decided what transmission to run, I've talked to some local places about rebuilding the current transmission, and also have looked into the 6l80 that comes with the Camaro, but that's about as far as I've gotten
